결론

결론적으로, 자유주의 신학은 이단이다. 왜냐하면 그것은 기독교의 근본 교리들을 부정하기 때문이다. (1) 자유주의 신학은 성경의 신빙성을 부정한다. (2) 자유주의 신학은 성경의 신적 권위를 부정한다. (3) 자유주의 신학은 성경의 무오성(無誤性)을 부정한다. (4) 자유주의 신학은 창조의 역사성을 부정한다. (5) 자유주의 신학은 하나님의 진노의 속성을 부정한다. (6) 자유주의 신학은 예수 그리스도의 성육신(成肉身)을 부정한다. (7) 자유주의 신학은 예수께서 처녀 마리아에게서 나셨음을 부정한다. (8) 자유주의 신학은 예수 그리스도의 기적들을 부정한다. (9) 자유주의 신학은 예수 그리스도의 형벌적 대속(代贖)을 부정한다. (10) 자유주의 신학은 예수 그리스도의 부활의 역사성을 부정한다. (11) 자유주의 신학은 보편구원론적 경향, 즉 악인들의 멸망을 부정하는 경향을 가진다. (12) 자유주의 신학은 사람의 영혼의 불멸성을 부정한다. (13) 자유주의 신학은 예수 그리스도의 재림을 부정한다. (14) 자유주의 신학은 죽은 자들의 부활을 부정한다. (15) 자유주의 신학은 마지막 심판과 지옥을 부정한다. (16) 자유주의 신학은 성경이 윤리적 규범임을 부정한다. (17) 자유주의 교회들은 낙태와 안락사를 용납한다. (18) 자유주의 교회들은 동성애를 용납한다. 우리는 적어도 이러한 점들을 대표적 자유주의 신학자들의 글들이나, 대표적 교단들과 목사들의 입장과 주장과 사상에서 확인할 수 있었다.

자유주의 신학은 현대 교회가 직면한 가장 무서운 이단 사상이다. 그것은 기독교의 근본 교리들을 부정하는 점에서 명백히 이단이다. 이런 사상이 이단이 아니라면 무엇이 이단이겠는가?

그런데 자유주의 신학이 기독교계 속에 깊숙이 들어와 교회들을 부패시키고 있는 것이다. 유럽의 교회들은 먼저 부패되었고 미국의 교회들은 20세기 초에 그 뒤를 따랐다. 오늘날 전 세계의 역사적 대교단들의 대다수는 자유주의적인 교단이 되었거나 자유주의를 포용하는 포용주의적 교단이 되었다. 우리나라도 기독교대한감리회(기감), 한국기독교장로회(기장), 대한예수교장로회(통합)를 비롯하여, 한국기독교침례회(기침), 기독교대한성결회(기성), 구세군 등은 적어도 자유주의 신학을 포용하는 교단들이라고 말할 수 있을 것이다.

현대 교회는 교리적으로 심히 배교적일 뿐만 아니라, 또한 윤리적으로도 심히 부패되어 있다. 오늘날의 많은 교회들은 가장 두려운 현대 사회의 죄악인 낙태와 안락사를 용납하며, 음란의 극단적 형태인 동성애까지 용납하고 있는 실정이다. 믿음은 행위와 결코 떨어질 수 없다. 바른 믿음은 반드시 거룩한 행위로 나타나야 한다. 구원의 목표는 단순히 지식의 새로움이 아니고 전인격적 새로움이다.

그러나 이러한 배교와 부패의 현상은 결코 이상한 일이 아니다. 그것은 성경에 이미 예언된 바가 성취되고 있는 것이기 때문이다. 마태복음 24:11, "거짓 선지자가 많이 일어나 많은 사람을 미혹하게 하겠으며." 데살로니가후서 2:2, "먼저 배도(背道)하는 일이 있고."

우리는 자유주의 신학이 명백히 이단임을 바르게 인식하고 단호히 배격해야 한다. 성경적인 교회는 자유주의자들을 제명 출교하고 그들과 교제치 말아야 하며, 그들을 용납하는 자들도 책망하고 그런 자들과의 교제도 삼가야 할 것이다. 성경은 "단번에 주신 믿음의 도를 위하여 힘써 싸우라"고 교훈하며(유 3), 이단들과 교제치 말라고 분명히 가르친다. 디도서 3:10, "이단에 속한 사람을 한두 번 훈계한 후에 멀리하라." 요한이서 10-11, "누구든지 이 교훈을 가지지 않고 너희에게 나아가거든 그를 집에 들이지도 말고 인사도 말라. 그에게 인사하는 자는 그 악한 일에 참여하는 자임이니라."
